Looks like a possible nice upslope event shaping up out there late next week/weekend.

1.55" here so far...radar blossoming with the approaching ULL..another soaker tonight.

Yep, looking like prime opportunity for upslope for Garrett county and WV mountains. Good news for the ski resorts.

Anyone know off-hand how many weekends its rained in the past 3 months?  Seems like it's been almost every weekend with the exception of last week.

Expand

I don't know about the past 3 months but I heard or saw that 29 of this year's Saturdays have had rain.  I would assume that we have roughly 52 Saturdays.

3.24" today - 3.85" for the event including yesterday.  Live on Lawyers Road just NW of Vienna and it was closed again today near Hunter Mill for about the....  10th?  time this year?  I've lost count.  Hunter Mill Rd is closed yet again too just North of the intersection with Lawyers due to overflowing Difficult Run.

Our entire yard was a sheen of reflected light from the runoff mid/late afternoon during the heaviest rates of nearly 1"/hr.  What a mess out there...

Don't worry. The last time my yard was this swampy and green in December was just before the dumping in 2009.

My basement window well flooded, which has only ever happened when that kind of rain happens in an hour or two, not 48 hours.

My back yard, I think I saw fish swimming around

Expand

Yeah, my basement flooded as if there had been more than 2-3 inches of rain.  I’m guessing the water table is still pretty high despite the 10 days of preceding dryness.
