BlunderStorm
I figured since meteorological winter was just around the corner I'd go ahead and get the new observations topic ready. Let the season begin! 1
Holston_River_Rambler
Somehow don't have freezing rain here in Harriman, TN. 32 and rain.
BlunderStorm
For the first time in a few weeks it's reached 60 today thanks to some breaks in the clouds. I can always appreciate a warm reprieve after a long period of cold.
John1122
Rainy, foggy and 54 degrees since midnight. Already ready for a change in this weather.

Holston_River_Rambler
Today has been just an all around unusual weather day. Dense fog and mild this AM in Knoxville. Crazy mt. wave winds in the foothills. Thunderstorm at around sunset. More possibly moving in from Middle TN. I like it. Things are wintery, but out of the ordinary. BlunderStorm
Today's high was 66. As of now it is 59 with sustained 10 mph winds from the southwest.
BlunderStorm
I'm keeping a sharp eye out for flurries tonight. If there is as much as flurry for a brief minute I want to make sure I mark that day down for a trace especially before midnight. As of now still a tad too warm at 36. UPDATE: and... just 20 mins later boom flurries falling yahoo!
John1122
Just had what I can only describe as a burst of snow. It just poured down for about 10 minutes.
BlunderStorm
This morning we've had a few intermittent bursts of snow. It's 33 but that hasn't stopped a light dusting from accumulating.
John1122
Have had some more pretty nice snow showers this morning. Expect there may be 1/2 inch or so overnight tonight once temps get into the 20s and another impulse rotates through.
John1122
Heavy snow falling currently, dusted everything in about 5 minutes. 35 degrees. If we get any of these after dark I could see travel issues developing in the area. 2
kvskelton
Light snow shower falling in downtown Kingsport at the moment. Nice to have some wintery precip for the second time this early in the season!
Holston_River_Rambler
In Morgan County today. 36 and cloudy with snow on Frozen Head. Those snow squalls look like summer downpours and even left some fog on the mountainsides. A squall and the Obed waiting for one:

Carvers Gap
Nice moderate snow fell for like 30 minutes are. Think that was our third dusting this season so far. I am nickel and diming my way to 1/4" for the season total.

BlunderStorm
It's very hard to pin down but I think I will mark Tuesday as having 0.2 in. Temperatures have gradually cooled and it is now 30. Some increased snow shower activity to the WNW of me is making it over Big A Mountain surviving the downslope. John1122
Business is booming. Closing in on an 3/4ths of an inch with fat quarters falling.

Jed33
Getting a nice snow shower with nickel to quarter sized flakes now. Looks like I have between a quarter to 1/2in on the picnic table. Seems like this little shortwave got its act together nicely!
John1122
I thought maybe 1/2 inch to 1 inch, but if I can get some more of these heavy snow showers to move through I can maybe pass 2 inches. It's a thick heavy snow as well, mostly falling at 31/32 degrees.
John1122
Scenes from this AM. 1.75 inches of snow on the trunk of the car, probably 1.25 on the ground.
Knoxtron
Maybe we will see some more flakes around Knoxville from this little bit upstream around Nashville...
Blue Ridge
Roughly 0.75" of cement greeted me this AM. Family in Erwin has 2" with icy roads. I-26 is apparently a mess.
BlunderStorm
I've managed to dodge most bands of snow but I'm not complaining. I hope your getting hammered over there John.
