Should that verify people won’t know what hit them.

Frigid look. Not much skill in that time range though. But it does loosely match the euro seasonal last month. It'll be interesting what the new one says which should be out sometime in the next 36-48 hours.

HM and isotherm are great at what they do. I've never been a huge fan of the really long range/seasonal forecasting. I'm glad there's some out there that are into it who are advancing our knowledge in that area and making those forecasts slowly, but surely, better. It just really isn't for me and it doesn't make anyone less of a man or woman. Even having skill in that area of forecasting means you have a lot of failures. You can know everything there is to know about angular momentum or mountain torque, but it isn't going to guarantee a 2-4+ week outlook. They are fun reads though and it's easy for some to get lost in them like a romance novel.

I think there is also some talking by each other. Nobody called for a torch pattern. All I said was that it may not be a wintry look and a 2 week period of this occurring. We all know it could mean a chance of snow especially inland, but it’s the look where that could melt two days later. I’m not sure where all the angst is coming from. I feel good about the post 12/10-12-25 or so period where this occurs.

Not at all. 4 or 5 days of nice weather will be great. But that is very different of what a couple of you were preaching last week. Pattern recognition is what separates the men from the boys. Hopefully some of you become men someday

Women from girls, Dogs from puppies, Cats from kittens?

Lots of Mets troll winter lovers, it's an in thing.

You keep saying nobody called for a torch pattern,  that is absolutely not true. Not you but there were a lot of them.

We might get a chance at some flurries from ocean effect snow showers on Wednesday as winds turn northerly due to a coastal storm wind field impacting Cape Cod.  No accumulations are likely.  I am not sold on the storm potential this upcoming weekend.  It looks mundane at best.  Just a passing cold outbreak.

The timing of the models with this system reminds of a potential storm that is going to happen.  With the number of questions left to be answered, it could very well become a storm like Blizzard of 2016.  Again the odds are really low at this time, but given we are six-plus days out, you never know for sure.

I think Cape Cod needs to watch this H5 low that develops right off the coast of ACK.  The hires NAM is bringing some snow over the region, the front from the northwest and the coastal storm offshore could spark some outbreaks of snow showers on the coastline.  850mb temps drop to around -10C over the coastline while ocean temps near 9-10C.

You'll be interested to know that TWC was just hyping that system.  Under their scenario #1 they said all interests from Boston to DC should be monitoring this system for potential northeaster.  Of course scenario #2 was OTS, but they didn't have a preference for one over the other, saying anything can happen, lol.

Kinda like Wolf if he was an on air forecaster.

Why? Miller A s can be fantastic especially for the coast. Lets do Dec 21 09 again

You must've loved that one. I remember the main deform set up just to my east and New London county down to LI got nailed. Still picked up a solid 10", so it was a win. Sign me up.
