Did it only hit the far southtowns? Weird, but there is a big difference driving down union where the northern part of WS only had about an inch or so, then where I am in WS close to 3” and by the time you got to Union near OP road there was close to 5”. Grass still completely covered in this part of WS so we will have a white Christmas here.

Don’t get me wrong, the snow on the ground was better than our dusting of mood flakes in the city.

The average snowfall in West Seneca probably ranges close to 25-30” a year from the northern part of the town (near where you were) to the southern part near OP (especially near Southwestern/Transit area which always seems to get pounded. True. My in-laws did get bullseyed by the November storm, with 80+ inches (without drifts, I stood on top of a 6 foot fence post and the snow was still almost to my knee). That was unreal. CNY_WX
Just got home from my niece’s just outside of Central Square. I got about 4 3/4 inches here. I81 wasn’t too bad, wet with slushy spots but the county roads haven’t been touched yet and are pretty treacherous.
Syrmax
Well, 5 75" and band has moved south into Syracuse and i-90 corridor and weakened. I cleared the snowboard so if we get a bit more stray stuff overnight we might squeak out 6". That's an honest snowfall, at least in these parts. Hard to call it Fake Snow though as it's probably 10:1. I'll do a melted in the a.m. with my daily reportage.
lakeeffectkid383
Merry Christmas to everyone! Looks like about the whole lakeshore from Niagara to Oswego County is having some nice mood flakes as they wake up this morning. Just glad the grass is still totally covered here and we’re having a white Christmas.

CNY_WX
Merry Christmas to everyone! The 5 inches of snow that fell here last night was timed perfectly to insure a white Christmas. Not only is the ground covered but the wet snow stuck to everything and it’s a winter wonderland out there!

wolfie09
Ratios finished around 12/1 in pulaski, 6.5" on 0.55" of liquid.. Majority of the day was heavy wet snow until the last strong band moved through, pure fluff..
Syrmax
Measured 5.8" last night. Melted was 0.53" so ratio was 10.9:1, about what I expected. I thought it might be even lower as it was relatively wet and plastered everything. Only a Trace since then. Definately jackpotted here as a few miles south in liverpool it looked like 3 or 4" when I left there last night. The trajectory was perfect for northern Onondaga county for several hours. CNY-LES FREAK
Snowing all morning with the sun out, lol, which just adds to the mood of the Day. Just an awesome scene out there and we're expecting an additional 3-4" tonight only to be washed away Thursday night followed by much colder air, but dry, so lets enjoy the white stuff while its here, lol.Get prepared for some boring weather unless the new year's system comes to fruition and its actually frozen and not wet cause the ball drop has a really good chance of dropping in the rain, which would ultimately suck ass, lol, so let's all cross our fingers, that's it's at least cold enough down to NYC for frozen precip cause rain would just suck royally but it's looking very unlikely!Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

CNY-WXFREAK
Pattern change is evolving as we type. I'd expect the models to become even more erratic until the pattern resets itself, but its gonna take time, perhaps like a step down with each successive event with an eventual switch to snow as opposed to this snow to rain stuff.
