ict1523
An odd little observation. Usually during snowstorms, people walk in the streets because it is easier to do that than trudge through unshoveled sidewalks. But right now the majority of sidewalks have been cleared while the streets are still completely snow covered.

Never went to rain, just sleet. Impressive storm for November 15th. Amazing how ill prepared this state was (the metro as a whole really). We've had far worse storms that were handled better. Think it had to do more with toming and intensity and the type of snow itself . Snow seemed very grainy and icy texture . Probably low ratios . Snow stuck almost instantly to pavement . Also started as heavy sleet for about 15-20 minutes before switching to snow
RedSky
A gust must have hit 60mph here brought a tree down the side of the front house took the gutter with it, it's roaring at times

And it happened very quickly. There was total gridlock. Nothing was moving so of course the plows couldn’t get through either.

Should also take a while to melt for the time of year
David-LI
Windy here north Nassau. Came to backyard to smoke a cig and a transformer nearby just blew up. Edit: According to HRRR winds will pick up in the pre morning hours. Those isobars look very close. Wouldn't be surprised if I woke up without power. That’s pretty insane and fairly rare yet not even a wind advisory?

Maybe the power lines and tree branches are giving up. It's been raining for a couple hours now, but we also had some freezing rain in between. Now looking at the HRRR wind will only get stronger in the morning.

Early in the season and I'm not in peak form yet. You got some good work for your snow measuring muscles though, if this was later in the season you could have pushed the ruler in further down and gotten to double digits! EasternLI
Have been too busy to post. Was able to grab a max depth measurement yesterday and had exactly 3". So I'm going with that for this event. Which, for the calendar date and my location is pretty damn impressive. Hopefully the start of a busy winter. Total precipitation from the storm is 1.28 at Wantagh. Just some scattered patches of snow left on the ground.
