At 11:40 am, Baltimore's daily rainfall had reached 0.86". That brings 2018's total precipitation to 60.00". 2018 is only the 3rd year on record that Baltimore has received 60.00" or more precipitation. Records go back to 1871.

2018 remains solidly on course to become Baltimore's wettest year on record.

Seems strange that a place with an average of about 42 would so rarely hit 60.

I think our dam safety PMP is about 28" in 6 hours. Last I recall.

(Probable max precip)

It is somewhat surprising. Washington, DC also has only 3 such years: 1878, 1889, and 2003. 2018 has a shot at reaching 60".

No precip here yet . Winter in Parkton has begun:snowing:

hahaha yeah. a heavier batch game through around 545. Ava had mentioned on air that there were other reports of sleet in Hamstead and Manchester, so when it started to rain I went out to check and sure enough, the lovely sound of pinging sleet greeted me when I opened the back door.

there is a 20" precip difference between me and some here despite it being wet for all.  i find that amazing.  I'm around 50" FTY

Are you sure?  There's a CoCoRahs station just SW of you ( Franconia 1.3 SSE ) that is at 59.51" and DCA is at 55.9".  That would be a major, sustained screwjob to be that much less than those two.

Temp down into upper 30's with rain here, raw almost winter-like day! I likey! Spent morning raking leaves into piles onto the paved driveway then using snow shovel, shoveled them out toward the end of property that slopes down into a ravine. 3-8 inches of wet leaves shovel just like snow, just in case someone wants to give it a whirl. It started pouring just as I came in, was a drizzle and light rain while outside. Could smell someone had fired up the wood stove in neighborhood.

Last time i looked at my total on the VP2 it was 48" but that was before the two most recent pourings.  I know that some of the training rains this summer just missed me.  But to see how some other places are over 60 and nearing 70 is quite the difference.

Lol.  I am trailing OKV by almost a foot.  That is 7 miles from my house.  This is , of course, par for the course.  Don't mind it this year, as it has been wet enough for me,  but sure I will be venting about it again come winter.
