LukeW
Hi I am planning a vacation in Florida (I live in the UK). Could I please ask if there is likely to be an increased chance of rain and cooler temperatures in mid November due to El Nino?
FallsLake
It's impossible to know what the weather will be for a certain time span a month in advance. Even if you take el nino which promotes cooler/wetter weather you could still have warm and dry weather. The biggest worry you should have is a late season hurricane/tropical storm. That would put a damper on your trip. I would just look at average temps/precip and go with those values. Usually November is a great time to go to Florida. I went years back in November and it was warm the first half of the week, but cooled down (nicely) for the second half. Had a few showers but nothing you couldn't wait out. **if you read our other threads the whole eastern US has been experiencing abnormally high temps (Florida's been discussed in detail). This should hopefully change by mid month. But, here is a write up on el nino focused on Florida: https://www.weather.gov/tae/enso
Orangeburgwx
El Niño continues to strengthen with latest NOAA weekly reading at the top end of the weak range and on the edge of moderate intensity. This is faster than 2014's evolution and closer to 2009's.
