JakkelWx
Speaking of winter... Some snow appearing on radar in the Catskills and other high elevation areas. The constant cold blasts on the GFS has early snow written all over it (close enough)

Bob Chill
Just watching the ens guidance over the last week has me thinking the first freeze is coming pre-Halloween for all but DCA. Makes sense. Over extended summer flips on a dime and the cold Canada pattern adjusts its aim toward the EC. I considered going earlier on first freeze contest but I went with persistence. Not making any calls but something to watch.
CAPE
Man I feel like I am in a different world. Outside getting stuff done- no sweat, and the mosquitoes and chiggers are impotent. Awesome. Currently 56, which is the high for the day. Mostly been in the low 50s. I love fall weather.

I got this lucky, because my late father passed in June, and also because most of my family lives in the Lone Star state. Today, I got super lucky! Our dewpoint is back up to 77 degrees ugh. Make your own luck, Subtropics. Move down here. The music scene is extraordinary and the beer is even better. So is the barbeque. But, this is a very hot, extremely HUMID place. wxdude64
From one end of the scale to the other lol. The 55.2 degree high is a new record 'cool max' for the date, beating 2006's 56.0 degree reading that was tied with 1988. 3-4 days ago I was setting record 'warm minimums'....... The low was 42.8, could have been much cooler but clouds rolled in not long after dark and locked temp in. Few sprinkles earlier here.
mattie g
44F in the closer-in ‘burbs (Burke) last night. It dipped to 46F by about 10:30, but didn’t drop much by morning. Still a really chilly night. This morning was wonderful...just the process of drinking coffee first thing this morning while letting the kids play around the cool house... midatlanticweather
I hit 40 before Midnight and then it bounced up a degree and stayed between 41 and 42 most of the overnight as clouds must have come in and stopped the radiational cooling! No complaints! Awesome to feel a chill in the air!
EastCoast NPZ
Same here. I was 40F before midnight and it didn't drop below that. Cloudy when I woke, so they must've rolled in soon after I went inside for the night. Still, a great chilly night, though it ruined our chances for frost. We were well on our way to mid-30s. George BM
Some mesoscale models have some convective line segments moving swiftly through parts of the region tomorrow evening with some meager CAPE but decent shear. Maybe some wind gusts with any that form.
