Hoosier
The Sunday system is producing a band of snow farther east in parts of IA/IL/WI on the 12z runs. Previous runs kept it farther west.
hlcater
Looks like there's a real chance for some snow around here monday night. Every model is doing it. Looks like a typical october snow, where evap cooling is the rule of the day. Shouldn't amount to much, but this is a solid shot at first flakes. Apparently there were flurries around early this morning to our east, but I didnt see any.
beavis1729
On the cold & snowy side of the recent storm, Grand Forks ND dropped to 9F this morning over fresh snow cover. It obliterated the old daily record low of 19F from 1979...and is probably the coldest temp on record so early in the season. Normal low is 34. fluoronium
I'm in central IL near Peoria and it is snowing here. I think it's the earliest I've ever seen flakes, and to top it off it hasn't even been 6 months since the last snow. We skipped spring this year, and it looks like we might just skip fall too. The leaves have barely started changing colors here so the trees will take a beating if all the green leaves just freeze off.

hawkeye_wx
The CR airport hit 32 early in the night, but we came up short in the city. Clouds moved in by 2am and held us around 34. I did see flakes this morning, but just a few tiny specks that were barely noticeable.

Some pretty decent size flakes as well. This is the first time I can remember us getting the first frost, first freeze, and first snow on the same date lol. Crazy to think just three days ago it was 84 with dews near 70, and 89 last week.

Met1985
Was a cloudy cold day in Wausau today. We had a high of 33 degrees today and we are down to 30 degrees currently. Congrats on those who are seeing snow.

Chinook
Here is a silver maple tree in Colorado. We had one like this in Ohio. Not too many maples are in the cities in Colorado. The hardwoods of the East are uncommon for the dry western climates.

Geoboy645
Got down to 25(!) here last night. Our growing season is definetly done now. *Sigh* this is one of my least favorite points of the year because this means that everything will be brown now till the snow flies. Hoosier
Pattern looks pretty uneventful for the next 1 to 2 weeks after tomorrow's system. Forget severe or snow, there's not even much precip on the models. Lake belts could be an exception with some activity from time to time.
Jim Martin
Looking uneventful as well for the next seven days here. However, frost(s)/freeze(s) looking more likely for NW Ohio the next several days.

We had a nice run the past month or so with the severe weather, excessive rains, early snows, and tropic tracking. Definitely due for a down period. Hopefully it won't last more than a few weeks.
