...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM TO 1 PM EST
SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Black ice and accumulating snow. Total snow accumulations
  of 2 to 4 inches, with locally higher amounts are expected above
  3500 feet along the Tennessee border. The lower valleys near the
  Tennessee border could see up to an inch of snow, with locally
  higher amounts. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph are also
  expected, especially across the higher elevations.

* WHERE...The North Carolina counties bordering Tennessee.

* WHEN...From 1 AM to 1 PM EST Sunday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Gusty
  winds could bring down tree branches.

We've had some house shakers out of the SW in the last hour. Weird hearing the wind coming from down the hill rather than up.

LOL...not only is the wind ripping out of the east but it's also climbing the elevation so in these types of events I almost literally record no rain in my tipping bucket due to it's poor wind protection and cone design.  .10" today.  Yeah right...  High gust so far is now 52mph

Just left from doing an inspection of the house I’m buying over at Balsam Gap, sun is out in full force on that side of Haywood but the closer I got to 40 the more you could see the snow showers are banked up on that side of the county.  Fines Creek looks like it’s getting hit pretty good from what I can tell.

Yes, The Fines Creek/Crabtree areas usually hit the jackpot in NW flow events.
