Met1985
Well after seeing about everything you could see the last hour or two in a winter storm we are back to heavy wet snow again. We are at 7.5 inches and counting.
NC_WX10
4.5" and counting.
Tyler Penland
Not sure where we at but it's adding up quick. Pouring right now. Flakes have gotten a little bigger.
BretWx
Huge flakes. Still. Unbelievable! I’m kind of nervous at the thought of another 6-10 inches through tomorrow...
NC_WX10
Anywhere from 6.5-7 for my last measurement of the night. Really liking the trends on the short range for tomorrow.

WxJordan
I have been really impressed with the storm so far. I went to bed at 10:00 p.m. and woke up at 3:30 a.m. to 4 inches of snow, very impressive. Siting at 5 inches of snow at 4:30 a.m. and light to moderate snow continuing with trees bending all over the place. Power outages coming soon I am afraid....
WNC_Fort
Really impressed with what fell overnight. 8” and trees are really starting to bend.
strongwxnc
Sleet begun to mix in around 1:30 last night. Had a ip/sn mix all night with a strong wind. Looks like 5" .
strongwxnc
Most over night runs have something continuing through the day for most locations. Hoping to stay snow or sleet and not kick over to FR or rain.
Tyler Penland
9.5" and dumping. I think I'll finally get my first foot of snow this time.
NavarreDon
Congrats folks! As per usual SE weather events we have some that over achieve and some that under achieve. Keeping it all in perspective (Dec. 8-10), it sounds like a pretty awesome chase & finish! Keep the obs, pics, & vids coming.

NC_WX10
just over 10" now. Short range models are still giving us over an 1" of precip today. Think we may make a run at 20" if all goes right
MikeGold
Looks like the warm nose is already on the way out. It appears that from the Balsam Mountains to the NE should be mostly in the clear as far as mixed precip. Temps have done nothing but drop in the Balsams over night...down to 23 degrees at mtn top level. 700 mb chart shows the tip of the nose right at the Nc/SC line escarpment area but sliding quickly to the ne and away.
ncjoaquin
It sure looked bad for a while yesterday, but I am at 10 inches and it is still snowing. Unreal.
MotoWeatherman
Impossible to measure here at 4650 on Beech. East winds have been ripping all night long gusting over 40+. At 5a there was a good bit of sleet mixed in but that has went away. Temp is 21.1
Phelps
Really fine (as in small) flakes up where I am on Beech. Blow and drifting so it's hard to know how much I've got. It's not even accumulating on the elevated surfaces really, just blows away. Hoping to see some fatties at some point today. No snowmen will be created in this stuff. Awesome Jason. Under some heavy sleet here. However, short term models looks to push that warm 700mb nose out in a few hours. Taking the kids out in falling snow is one thing, but sleet....

chapelhillwx
We flipped to sleet in Hendersonville around 4am and are still sleeting, would love to at least end as some snow
Blue_Ridge_Escarpment
After such a delayed start in the greater McDowell area, I can’t believe I’m typing that we have 10.75 on the ground right now with moderate snow still falling. 1
The Alchemist
Absolute sleet fest going on this morning. 15.5 inches total, about 13.75 inches snow and the rest sleet. 27˚/26˚. Unsure of rates but I've never seen (more like heard) the sleet so heavy. Still have power believe it or not, though it has dimmed a few time this morning. Edit addition; Hey, does anyone have an opinion on if that warm nose is strong enough to flip this to all rain for a while down here?
