Just had a rather intense squall a few minutes ago that laid down about a half inch. It's 19.2 here with a few flurries at the moment. I just opened my blinds up because I forgot it was supposed to snow this morning and kinda flipped out. Have about 2.5 as well
BMulkey
Here in Blowing Rock it has really picked up in the last half hour. Sounds like there are a lot of problems on the roads in Boone.

SnoJoe
GSP extended the WWA until 6 pm now. Radar looks good for maybe another couple of inches. I'll take a 5-inch snow before the big dog this weekend. And it might not get above freezing here until it starts Sat. Gonna be a long 3 days.
FlatLander48
Think we can classify this as an overperformer. give me another one this weekend and we can go ahead to spring.

FlatLander48
This looks great. But..Considering how good it looked, I thought there might be some higher totals. But I'll take it to the bank for sure.

AirNelson39
This current snow is another over performer for us in the mtns. Ray was calling for dusting to maybe an inch. We’ve had several very heavy squalls and I’d say solid 2”

Though it is the lowest on QPF...but has been dry on every event this season....sometimes by a factor of 2 or 3. So look at thermal profiles and just how STOUT that wedge has become on the GFS. This is a big deal folks. Be prepared.

HurricaneTracker
7 minutes ago, BlueRidgeFolklore said: What's you thoughts on the CMC despite it being on it's own? It’s internally inconsistent. 300 mile shift northward in one model run. Plows the low from New Orleans to northern Alabama and right into the southern Apps. Looks suspicious to me. Lows don’t move into wedges. CAD wedge is excellent on this run and 1036 high sits over Philly on Saturday. Would agree it’s an outlier run for now as it disagrees with GFS and NAM from this mornings runs.
FlatLander48
The fact this squall has lasted this long is surprising. Still whiteout conditions.

Relax, it's just doing the mill A/B transition to the high reflective spot in Florida. The next frame if it ever loads will clear everything up.
