We have had a lot of near misses, I would say at least 5-8" to my south and east by only 5-10 miles. So it is possible you have nearly that much. Even today for example, just to our south 2-4 inches more than here.

codfishsnowman
well if this happened in winter and it was cold enough from the top down, the same jack pot zones as usual would be hi fiving purple blue eyed unicorns but I will take my nearly 2 inches of rain and call it good
CoastalWx
September and October have been known for prolific rains. The combo of still high PWATS and now synoptic lift.

tamarack
0.38" by 9 this evening, bringing the month to just over 1.5". With only light rain upstream, we finish with maybe 2" (for the month.) Probably not all that much more between now and Oct. 1, but since this morning's 28 thoroughly fried the garden, it matters little. Today was 13-14° BN, pulling the month nearly back to the norm. We finish within 0.5° of the 21-year average, probably on the high side of it.

#NoPoles
.81 not overwhelming, but definitely needed Aug 2, 1985 Delta 191 tries to land directly in the path of a thunderstorm and a microburst slams the aircraft into the ground. That single defining moment paved the way for doppler radar, and changed the relationship with NWS.
