DopplerWx
12z gfs has no 50s (or even lows 60s) thru the end of the run.

Tomorrow average lows are supposed to start to be in the 50's for Charlotte. We'll get there eventually.
BullCityWx
No sign of fall through 10/5 on 12z GFS. Hottest September on record for KCLT is a near lock.

CLTwx
Not relevant to our weather but was in Windermere, Ontario Canada for 5 days. That storm was wicked. No power for 3 days. 60-70 mph winds, tornado in Ottawa. Lows approached 40F after the passage.

Iceagewhereartthou
Long range GFS continues to push much cooler air down and finally through the area Oct 5th. Many areas would be low 60s / mid 50s for highs with 40s for lows and even some 30s high elevation verbatim. Long way off, 240 +, and GFS has been showing a pattern changing cool down since early Sept, literally, so don't get too excited, but it as been there for quite a few runs, minus one last night. Man we are due!
lookingnorth
If the seven day forecast for Raleigh verifies, they could have their first September since records began without a low in the 50s.
kvegas-wx
Who cares about temps being in the 60's and 70's when it is only because of heavy fog and rainy conditions. This has to be overall the most crappy year of weather I can remember. And at this point, if I dont get my extended fall, I sure as heck dont want to dive straight into a cold and snowy winter. Groundhog day forecast for much of this week and weekend. Bring on October.
Wow
This has been the longest summer ever. The heat and humidity started early May and hasn't let up since. Even the trees are tired of it. I've got leaves everywhere on the ground. 1

But the GFS has been flipping back and forth between a nice cool down and more of the same warmth. I'll be interested to see what the 12z brings. Cold Rain
What if we stay 80s/90s into October and then 70s/80s in November and then 60s/70s, with the occasional 80s, for the rest of the winter? With 80% humidity. What a winter!

FallsLake
In this pattern we have to take what we can get. The latest 12z NAM has the CAD a little stronger for this upcoming Friday. **still it would be nice to get a "real" cold front to push through and give everybody on the board a break.
FallsLake
12z GFS cooler for this weekend and early next week for NC northward. It shows lows in the 50s for northern NC into Va. Maybe I can open the windows for a few days.

I actually kind of like the gloomy, overcast, drizzly days from time to time. Additionally, I would quite willingly forgo fall (though I would miss it), if I could dive right in to a cold and snowy winter in October.

Tarheel17
I'm just going to choose to believe the FV3-GFS. Seems a little closer to the Euro through 10 days. Edit: 12z, not 18z.
