Most of the late Aug/Sep record mins at CON are from the 60s and 70s.

1960s and 1970s everywhere. Acid was popular during that time too?

It's really a very bizarre look out there beyond D4 or 5 ... the Euro and GGEM really 'have their cake and eat it too,' in showing almost no meaningful recession of very tall heights/ride anomaly while engineering ways to keep the bottom of the atmosphere chilly...

Not sure things won't break differently there... we'll see -

On the other hand, as I said earlier ... man is the Euro really plumbing the troposphere N of the 60th parallel  ... Love that 510 core up there in the lower Beaufort Sea - day 10 tho

I was including 1st 2nd and 3rd records. They’re loaded.

And I’m sure all of those record lows at CON resulted in the sweaty tiki bars and topless tanning you recall at PVD. lol

Some geography for you. Westerly RI and the beaches are 47 miles south of PVD . I am sure your weather is similar to Woodstock NH though. You should cherry pick some more UHI city data to back up your point though.

Steve...if CON is hitting 30F I doubt you are sweating your azz on a Westerly beach.

Brian, who said I was. I stated I remember many warm Septembers growing up and spending time on the beach and hot classrooms, obviously some days were not. This is really nonsense from you. Of course your 1970s record min were followed by some pretty hot Sept days

Your records and a chart for Kingston RI the same year, yea I probably was surfing late month at age 13

Model blends still doing it ...

We are enormous,... perhaps extraordinarily so, with heights over eastern N/A ... particularly south of the 50th parallel, right out to mid September as per present guidance tenor.  Yet, after about Thursday of this week, the days may turn out disproportionately cool at the surface - in other words, it would be an anomaly relative to the larger anomaly, offsetting the larger anomaly.  Interesting.

This is all due to their creating these episodic high pressure bubbles over southern and southeastern Canada, then as these anticyclones smear east toward the Maritimes, they wedge in from the north, which of course means east wind for NE ... during a time where Tweeting meteorologist are trying to warn us that September is above normal.  They may be right, because such a pattern could keep the diurnal minimums somewhat elevated, such that the total 24-hour periods end up a tick or two above even though no one is aware of it...  This summer really has been a creative journey in atmospheric deception... fascinating.

The Euro did back off a little on the longevity of the east wind from late Thursday through Sunday... It now shows more of a "COL" type pressure pattern evolving by/over the weekend, which would terminate the east wind for all but the coastal towns.

Even if the high pressure bully in from the north episodes turn out to be over engineered by the models ... it seems there's not as much heat being ejected from SW.  We could end up mega heights 'till the 15th of the month, but with the heat gutted and evacuated out of the ridging...meh.

Meh...you gave the implication that those decades were no different than what we've experienced recently. Obviously there were warm and humid Sep days back then. Sep used to have a good mix of summer and fall...it has basically been a summer month lately. That's all I'm saying.

I agree with you regarding Septembers at 1 time having a good mix of summer and fall. Clearly GW has taken root in New England.

That Kingston chart trend looks too steep to be from GW, but I'm no expert on that. That's like a bull market chart where the trend is up and each successive dip is higher than the previous bottom.

Over the course of the last 20 or so years the vast majority of daily min(record low high) and max highs have been set on the "warm" side. And just like with a stock chart there is a causal effect. And the best bet is GW is causing it.
