It’s only reached 79 so far at BDR. Still feels terrible due to the humidity but the onshore flow did it’s part.

A little misleading, I hit 89 just 5 miles inland from BDR...Sikorsky is way out on that peninsula.   Most of SW CT was near 90 today...

Humidity really high this am. 80, dew 75

It's not very often that we see a marine layer roll in with dewpoints in the mid 70's. It's very rare to see so much onshore flow with a heatwave reaching the upper 90's. But the ridge axis this far north is creating a Northeast US version of the trade winds from the east. Reminds me of Florida with the persistent SE summer flow and high dewpoints.

You know it's an odd pattern when BTV has an historic minimum warmer than LGA on the same day.

A significant temperature record has fallen! Yesterday, July 2nd, the temperature in Burlington, VT never fell below 80 degrees Fahrenheit. This establishes a new ALL-TIME record "high-minimum" temperature for any calendar day. The old record was 78F set several times previously.pic.twitter.com/ihdGgHtleL

Pending on clouds ahead of the front on Fri PM, Friday could be an over performer on heat as flow will go WNW.  Shower activity could pickup later today - Thu although with ridge anchored above it will be isolated activity.  Beyond this weekend (7/8) overall warm - hot with  burst of heat next week Tue-Fri -  more md 90s possible.  WAR looks to slip away mid month with more troughiness in the east (7/15), but wouldnt shock me to see more resistance and more humid S-SSW flow for period before next westward expansion of ridge/heat on/around 7/18.  This is very much like 2013 - question is does the switch (warmth) go off in late Jul/Aug like then?
