There is no BN period for us till July 15-19.    Last 10 days of the month seem like a back and forth battle between ridge and trough with no clear winner.

The GFS Max./Min. Output for the next 10 days is still averaging a ridiculous 97degs.

Still think we see ridge pulse in the 7/6 - 7/10 period that brings the hottest temps (of the first half) Beyond there it looks warm.  2013 - ish....

Looks like GFS and EURO are showing the front coming through on friday the 6th. That would set us up for a beautiful weekend next weekend with temps in the 80s and low humidity. Hopefully the models are right about this and you will be wrong about it getting terribly hot again next weekend.

I remember the 88 heatwave. Our pool water was up to 90 degrees

Can anyone check the length of the heatwaves in  (NYC) 1991, 1993.    I believe in 1991 there was a seventeen day period with just one missed 90 degree day or something.

The first 7 days of July will average an astounding 86degs.,  11degs. AN.      This is a surplus of 77 degrees and represents half of what we need for the whole month to become the hottest July ever.      Even if remainder of the month were Normal, we would still end up +77/31 about +2.5.

The first 8 days of July are averaging 83degs., or 8degs. AN.

July Normal is 76.5, and record is 81.4(1999).  So target would be to finish at > +5.0

Temp. just hit 80 here (6:15AM).  I am going watch for a montonically increasing temperature w/o setbacks like previous days.  eg.  Yesterday 85 at 10:30 but 83 at 1PM when I went to  beach.
