Felt summery today with a high of 84.9, but reasonable dews in the 50s. We probably won't get the 40F swing tonight, we are just now about to slip into the 50s. I love heat waves in the mountains. It's so relative. Then a chance of frost on Thursday lol

Big difference tonight if you can go calm or not... feels real good out there tonight.  Comfortable air moving into the home after today's sunlight really heated up the interior.  The ASOS here has gone calm causing a sharp drop into the mid-60s, while BTV and MPV remain well mixed with temps in the 70s.  Even BML and HIE are still mixed.  It'll probably be an up and down night with large differences even on the micro-scale with such a weak surface inversion.

Places like BTV won't get past the low-70s tonight.  That's a summery night.

Pool got used today for the first time this season.  Still rather cold, but at least it’s ready.

Sitting on the screen porch finishing a tasty porter with the dog sleeping at my feet.   A good day.

i suppose I should get some grading done.

Annual grade field trip to state forest with swimming tomorrow.  At least I won’t be in my classroom.

Hope you had a good Father’s Day.

Installed the last 10 of our 35 panels of 6 foot high 8 foot long slat fencing today, was hot but man that pool felt awesome. My predicted high tomorrow at work is 83, 86 at home while those unlucky peeps have 94 s in the firecast. Happy fathers day

Is that map current??? I'm at 58.8 and its pretty chilly out

I love the micro-scale differences the topography allows for in the mountains, especially on these evenings when it's a struggle to get the nocturnal inversion going.  Only the lowest spots between higher terrain (along the river) are able to go calm and radiate efficiently.

based purely on now-casting ... I see problems achieving "big heat" numbers today.

first and for most, we are generating mid tropospheric summit plumes over the spines of the elevations and these fanning SE and cloaking insolation is already taking place.

secondly, DPs are just now struggling over 60 F... which would be good for higher temperatures, buuuut, there is theta-e differentiation going on...and as the moisture injects into the region that will tend to off-set day-time heating.

we'll see how it goes -

I just mentioned Kimball's to my boyfriend last night when we were having ice cream in the Village. Nothing can beat Kimball's.

Ever had Gifford's?  (preferably at one of their Maine stores)

Still mostly overcast at Augusta.  Dews are rising but it will take a real blast to approach 90 here.  At home had 0.03" before 7 from the warm front, with some more colorful echoes to the north.

Gifford's rocks.

Got up to 82.3 earlier.  Lots of clouds now, 80.6.  Muggy though.

Thank God! My cousin is having an outdoor wedding out on FI this weekend. We've been praying for this for months.
