ASOS only reports in whole deg F, but in the body of the reports it gets rounded to whole deg C. So when you see 89.6F in a non hourly METAR (Hourlies give you the T group in the remarks), what you’re seeing is just 32C. That could be one of two temps...either 89F (31.7C) or 90F (32.2C). In the hourly METAR, the T group will tell you exactly which one of the 32C’s that it is (T0317 or T0322). It’s really dumb. All of the SPECIs and intermediate 5 min obs should have the T group. Radiating can only do so much. 69/68 with calm winds and humid here, while BTV is ten degrees warmer at 79F but with the breezy trade winds out there in the Champlain Valley.
