KPITSnow
Please don’t laugh at me, but if this was later in the year, and tracked directly over Lake Michigan, could that possibly strengthen a system that is still this well defined? I know there is the “brown ocean” effect, but o would have to imagine that an actual, warm body of water would be more conducive if it could thread the needle and track due north over Lake Michigan? tuanis
Around here, the Fox Valley looks to get a soaking over the next few hours. Doesn’t look to budge much. Those of us sandwiched between the light rain of the main circulation and the heavier stuff may not see much after all.
Jackstraw
.10 inches so far all in sprinkles. Sidewalks are drying up faster than it falls. Hopefully some of that southern band can make it here. It's a desert. Don't usually see my yard cracking until August.

Theoretically, I think it could strengthen a system, at least marginally. I don't see why not. The issue would be that systems are often clipping by fairly rapidly as they get that far north and also recurving with some eastward component, so getting it to run over Lake Michigan for any prolonged length of time would be difficult. Indystorm
Nice bands of semi tropical showers punctuated by gusty winds and partly cloudy skies at times. Nice to experience even though heavier precip was to my west. With the dearth of svr weather this spring it is still kinda neat to have experienced these remnants so early in the hurricane season and 100 degree temps when I was up at Highland IN the other day. OHweather
Nice pics. Not much spun on radar today, but a pretty surprising amount of wind damage reports from those bands of storms.

Hoosier
Rain amounts not that impressive here... sort of caught in between the heavier totals on the west side of the circulation and the thunderstorms farther west.
snowlover2
Wow just had a close lightning strike with one of the loudest claps of thunder I've heard in some time. Scared the you know what out of me. Pouring buckets here. Just incredible how hard its raining. This line means business.
IWXwx
Nice pics. I agree that the first one is awesome. I just came inside from watching the clouds fly by, with the trees blowing in the wind and off again on again rain. Really enjoy having these tropical systems go practically overhead. I'd still be outside if it wasn't getting dark.

Not surprising, a bit of a drier low level than expected today. Dews were supposed to be in lower 70s vs upper 60s.

Yeah it looks like a slight would have been a good call due to all those wind reports from IN/OH/MI.
