Two WYFF  people killed this afternoon when a tree fell on their news truck in Polk county, undoubtedly ground weakened by all the rain.

Reporter Mike  McCormick,

Photojournalist  Aaron Smeltzer.

Awful for the WYff  team!

Yeah that sucks. Back in the old antenna days, wyff was my go to source for news/weather.

Came a flood last night...Got nearly 4 inches of rain altogether.  and looks like one of the feeder bands could impact here most of the afternoon.

Picked up 1.05" yesterday which makes 3 days in a row of at least 1" of rain. My 3 day total now stands at 3.97" and 7.45" for the month. Looks like more rain today even though the NWS has us pegged at only 20%.

that 20% was for the morning hrs, you are at 50% for the afternoon.....tomorrow is the only day were we/you are at 20% for the afternoon hrs all week.....its back to 30% for the evening hrs tomorrow as well.....

We are back up to 80% for the rest of today. I have already picked up another .32" since noon and it is thundering right now so looks like more rain on the way.

My backyard is a swamp right now from all the rain. I hope we don't get any kind of wind in the next few days.

73.7/81 for Our high today..

Good rain chances today;;

This lil tidbit from Our local NWS Office..

Wilmington which is sitting at 14.36 inches of rain for the month,
by far, a record for May. If Wilmington can get 0.64 inches of rain
today, reaching 15.00 for the month and almost 6 inches above the
previous record, that would put the city at 5 Standard deviations
above the mean for May. (400% above Normal)..

0.06" yesterday, 0.16" today for a kickass 0.22 for Mon, Tues.

I continue to be amazed at how I keep on missing the rain. Wed 0.01", today 0.00".

0.23" for the week.  Meanwhile, half the state seems to be washing away.
