The 92 at NYC is the 2nd warmest on record by May 3rd. Not much correlation between early record heat and the summers that followed.

96...2002....1976

92...2018....2010....2009....1915

the winters that followed were pretty good...1976-77 wasn't as snowy as the other four but it was the coldest...

At least since 1950, the La Nina to El Nino transition summers were cooler.

Summer 02....Neutral 01-02 to El Nino 02-03....hot

Summer 76.....75-76 La Nina to 76-77 El Nino....cool

Summer 09...08-09 La Nina to 09-10 El Nino....cool

Summer 10...09-10 El Nino to 10-11 La Nina.....hot

In 2 miles on the sprain parkway between Tuckahoe Road and Jackson Avenue the temperature dropped from 90° to 72° with onset of rain… I’ve never seen a drop like that in such a short span In which there wasn’t a large body of water involved

Just a few miles north of me. Got dark and gusty winds but little rain here.  Temp fell from 91 to 86 in 10 mins.

Yeah it does, it’s miserably hot in the city right now. Looking forward to a 30 degree temp drop when I go home

Might have hit mid 70s very briefly but I’d say it was in the 60s from mid afternoon on down here. Stiff seabreeze for much of the day.
