Surprisingly almost no lightning with those heavy showers west of the city, though the atmosphere probably was stabilized by the initial rain and it now being cloudy. It seems that that every day the severe storms have started to form directly over us then ramped up to our south and east. We we will probably see the watch canceled over our area in the next hour or two.

MikeB_01
This incoming line is really losing its punch. Just some weak showers to roll through I think. Even the back end of the rain is shrinking. On radar it looks like it is racing to catch the leading edge.

CoraopolisWx
This wet summer like pattern looks to continue all week. It's unusual though for the first half May. I was hoping back in late April the folks talking about a flip to summer would be wrong, but so far this year the longer range guidance has done well with pattern changes. Yeah, a lot of water predicted by the GFS. Looks like its showing some interaction with that tropical system down in FL too. I would also guess this is fairly unusual for May? I don't follow tropical to closely unless I'm planning a vacation along the East Coast, or there is a shot at some remnants hitting us, so not sure how unusual this might actually be or how likely the GFS is just out to lunch. Crazy stuff. Areas south of downtown received 2+ in of rain in an hour based on radar.

blackngoldrules
Painters Run Road is really bad. That creek has overflowed its banks and there are rock and mud slides from the hills. CoraopolisWx
After being on the NW edge of the severe weather last week, now we're on the SE edge. Satellite imagry showing that the storms are having a hard time maintaining after they form. CAPE looks decent, but the aloft winds are pretty weak. I'm hoping to get some good thunder later tonight, but not holding my breath.
