Just shy of 4 inches of rainfall IMBY for a two-day total. Looks like more later tonight too, with current radar trends.

Wow! I definitely got more rain. Almost 2 more inches since midnight! That brings the storm total to just under 6 inches. It's soggy outside.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for central North Carolina.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

to perhaps one and one half inches, in diameter.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

While mainly small hail will accompany scattered to numerous showers
and thunderstorms between 11 AM and 5 PM today, the strongest storms
will be capable of producing hail between one half inch and one inch
in diameter.

And from the AFD:

 as the upr low moves
overhead this morning, the models suggest as much as 500-1000 J/kg
of MLCAPE will materialize over the ne NC Piedmont and nrn Coastal
Plain by 18Z. There, small hail will likely accompany the convection
given low freezing and wet bulb freezing levels between 8000-9500
ft. Additionally, modest swly mid level flow aloft --around 30-40
kts on the ern periphery of the devolving mid-upr low-- will favor
mid level rotation and a risk of severe hail from near RWI and IXA
ewd to the nern NC coast.

I've eaten at the Ocenaic a few times. I like Johnny Mercer's. Ran into Jim Cantore while surfing there back in the early 2000's. He and a cameraman were filming for a possible land falling tropical system and me and my buddy along with twenty or so other people were enjoying the surf. Later on that evening he came into Lagerheads and we ran him outta there. LOL. Told him to take his a** to The Palm Room.

Looks like Hawaii might have set the new 24HR rainfall record for the nation. 49.69 inches of rain in 24 hours at Waipu, Kauai. That was with that same unusual very unstable trade wind set up that gave us in the Eastern part of Oahu 6 inches of rain in 1 hour. Got some video from that beast. Wasn’t my video though. I’ll see if i can post it.

Here is the link for it.
