I have a sunset going on but still hearing some thunder. Rain so far was 1/3rd inch and temp down to 67. ETA - rainbow out there off to the east with some light rain. Voyager Posted May 17, 2018 Share Posted May 17, 2018 This reminds me, not on as big a scale, though, of the 5 day rain event we had back in 2006. We got just over 18 inches up here in that one. It was so bad that they evacuated almost half of Tamaqua (the low areas along the Little Schuylkill River) because officials thought the dam at Tuscarora State Park, just north of town, was going to fail. The Iceman Posted May 17, 2018 Share Posted May 17, 2018 received 1.4" yesterday...1.2" of which fell between 2 am and 5 am this morning. 3.1" over the last 5 days. now 6z guidance backed off a bit on heavy rain the next few days keeping most of it to the south. will have to see if that is a blip or a trend. It has verified well today with qpf...we've gotten much more than what the mesos showed for today which was basically nothing. we've had light-moderate rain pretty much all day.
