Yep, watching local news, they broke into the hockey game. Tornado warning for that storm. I am getting pounded with second storm in 2 hours, had a 51 mph gust about 20 minutes ago. Tight rotation to the NW of Danville, now 70 mph to radar and 80 away on velocity. Estimating 1.5 inches in the gauge since it has topped CoCoRaHS inner tube.

Congrats, you managed to top @EastCoast NPZ's average yearly rainfall total in 1 storm

Picked up 0.35" of rain today ahead of the main show. Temp is 45 now. Wind has been impressive at times.

A medium sized oak tree fell into the "back yard"(the smallish rectangular area where I attempt to grow grass, surrounded by acres of trees) and just missed the bird feeder, lights, and some plants. It was dead, but hopefully not rotted. I'll cut it up for firewood.

I don't know, we are getting good rains right now.  This could be a good-ol'-fashioned gully-washer.  Haven't had anything like this in some time.  Much needed.  It was nasty here with the pollen and dust.

Interesting experience driving back to NVA from Williamsburg today.  Was mid 70's downtown Williamsburg around 1pm.  Got up to 79 just west of town near the outlet stores on Richmond Hwy.  Hit rain on 64 about half way between Williamsburg and Richmond after having to bypass an accident that closed WB 64 (why on earth VDOT does not make 64 3 lanes each way is beyond logic).  Ran into a downpour just before approaching the 295 by-pass and temp dropped to low 50's...  Stayed there until we got on 95NB.  95 was stop and go all the way north through Fredericksburg and beyond to just before the start of the HOV. (sigh...)  By then temps were upper 40's and was 42 upon arrival at home in Vienna.  Factoring in the mid 80's in Williamsburg yesterday, was nearly a 45 degree drop.  That's impressive by any standards.

International Falls has had an incredibly cold April so far. Even though it's International Falls, I was still stunned when I saw the numbers......

Eastcoast NPZ will never get rain (you are currently here)

Jeb won’t get snow in May

Bob Chill will never see a cat 5 up the Bay

Bob Chill WILL see a category 5 hurricane come straight up the Bay. It is going to happen a lot sooner than most think. It will be a total catastrophe for the Mid Atlantic. Many areas will be written off. There just isnt enough money. I'll be obliterated, no way I can jebwalk that magnitude of a storm, lol. The SURGE alone coming up the Bay would amount to an unprecedented flood catastrophe. Hell, the EVACUATIONS from Alexandria would be a total disaster, ppl fleeing from monster surge ahead of the storm.

Massive climate change plus other factors that will not be mentioned here, will contribute to a Cat 5 coming up the Chesapeake Bay..

First thunder of the year.  A welcome sound.

April 16th. This is the latest that I've heard my first thunder for as long as I can remember (at least since 2005).

Previous record from 2005 onwards: April 12th of both 2008 and 2013.
