We just can’t have April weather this year can we? It’s either January or July.

Seriously though, we haven't had seasonable all year.

First it was the Early January deep freeze

then it was the mid-late Feb warmup (with a couple seasonable days mixed in)

then it was the chilly, but rainy early February

and then of course.. the Mid-late Feb torcher

next was just about the entire month of March. Cold days, seasonable nights

and here we are..

You know what's hilarious?  All 3 airports are basically at normal temps for the month-to-date (BWI even slightly above normal) because of the 2 torch days last week.

TBH that's why I like that PRISM map that's on Ryan Maue's website. Pretty accurate with temps

We had some off and on scattered flurries here in the last hour that I at first thought were cherry blossom petals.

I thought they were coming from a tree too.  Then one landed on my sleeve and started to melt.  Wasn't expecting to see snowflakes today.

This is more or less what a normal April is like. Swinging from 45 and cloudy to 70 or 80+ isn’t unusual. The next week from tomorrow on should be pretty seasonable.

THIS is why the 'I love spring with it's 60's/70's' is so misleading, because averages are just that-averages. You are correct Fozz, this week is exactly what April is, windy warm, cold, warm, windy cold...sun, rain, flurries, sun. The sunny and 60-70 that many crave generally are the 'oddball' days in between systems.
