I was hoping to get a full day in here (I got in at 6 am and was awake for the 2am model run LOL) but it looks like it might cave to snow earlier than we thought. WVclimo
Some of the largest flakes I can recall seeing are accumulating here at 33 degrees. Larger than half-dollar size. About 1.5” diameter. Pretty wild.

I have some sleet on my car in Columbia, but nothing’s white. Alternating between mostly rain and a 50/50 rain sleet mix since it started.
ErinInTheSky
Very pleased with the low surface temperatures and early reports of sleet everywhere. I know we were discussing yesterday that sleet would start at about 1-2:00. The earlier the sleet starts, the better I feel about early snow. mattie g
About to walk to meetings a few blocks away in Gallery Place/Penn Quarter, so I'm hoping that when I come back at around 10:30 I have a few sleet obs from inside Mordor. Wife is on the hook to let me know when we flip from rain to sleet in Burke.

mattie g
I'd just like to take this opportunity to say that rain to sleet/snow is sooooo much better than the other way around. It doesn't happen nearly as often, either, so we have to take it all in when it does.
