I think that might be... a little high, but I also don't think it's out of reach in 1-2 more hours of this. OKpowdah
Figured this still would go in this thread... Lots of fun tomorrow too. Upstream ML low drops over the Northeast, 500mb temps plummet to around -35C. There's no low level cold advection going on behind this storm. Plus low to mid level moisture gets trapped in the broad circulation formed. We're talking total totals >50, even potentially some low level CAPE >100J/kg. Recipe for heavy snow squalls with whiteout conditions, maybe some thunder.

henry1978
If it's any consolation Cory the heaviest of that death band has been about ten miles to your west, and when the meat of it reaches your hill it won't be as intense. But nevertheless you certainly missed a biggie.

Public report of about 16 here in Lexington sounds about right with that band just about to make landfall here.

OceanStWx
Check out the mid level WV loop. You can really see some vortices ripping back westward north and west of the main surface low, in the shear zone of the cold conveyor. I love me some GOES-16. HIPPYVALLEY
5.5" - 6" here since midnight. 4.5" or so otg. Heavy and wet. 32F -SN A little disappointing relative to forecast but we probably wasted some qpf and never got into better rates despite them being overhead. Still looks pretty!
