Energy at 500 isnt as organized for wave 2. I dont see a closed low. Will be interesting to see what happens but I dont think wave 2 is gonna work out on this run.

GFS thermals usually run a tad warm so there’s that too.

mets can chime in, but i actually thought the 2nd wave looked a little better (tho not as sharp) as the last run.  still looks pretty unresolved.

500 trough is weaker, south, not cutoff. Trends from 18z continue on the GFS. Not a good signal for our area.

250mb wind shows that the jet is much flatter across CONUS than previous runs. Nothing to steer it up the coast.
