flsch22
is the GEPS based off the euro? or completely separate data? THANKS
eurojosh
Euro pops an LP near Houston @48hrs. That's slightly better than the previous run, but doesn't provide much hope that anything would get near DC.

Amped
Southern stream is too far south for a quick phase, but Euro digging the NS faster in canada at 48rs.

mappy
1 minute ago, Ji said: like normally, this would be exciting right? yup, its an improvement, but in order for the phase we all need, that northern vort needs to get behind the southern one and grab it. right now its squashing it. ErinInTheSky
Euro slides under us. Actually fills central VA with rain after a brief heavy snow.

clskinsfan
Precip maps are only out to 54 on weatherus. But the Euro has no precip above NC during that time. Northern stream precip is in St. Louis at that time.
ErinInTheSky
I think we're actually getting to a point of model convergence on a low that slides through SC/NC giving a little snow to VA and rain to SC and NC.
Deck Pic
0z then 12z. Super close to turning the corner. Keep in mind the contour starts at 0.10. This run gets precip into DC.
stormtracker
What do we do now? Euro improves. GFS falls back. Neither are hits for us.
Scarlet Pimpernel
2 minutes ago, Ji said: like normally, this would be exciting right? If that trough were more neutral-tilted at that longitude, and if the confluence above it were not so far south, it would be a heck of a lot better look (and if the northern stream would dig more an interact, as Mappy mentioned above). But it is somewhat of an improvement compared to last couple cycles.

Sure it could just stay south but it won't. It's gonna make an adjustment and I doubt at this point that it will be further south.

Even if you average them out it is still not good for us. We still have time. But it is fading fast.
