Hoosier
Hoping for something at least a little noteworthy tomorrow. CAPE looks pretty good and there's respectable low level flow, but the mid/upper level flow is pretty much garbage around here.

Stebo
This hail was bigger than 2.50" that one on tape measure is 3.50". Incredible stuff. Proof how rare this hail event was for the UP.
Stebo
The latest report is 4.00" from yesterday up there. With these pictures, I completely believe that.

Chicago Storm
The severe threat just isn’t going to work out around here today. I was optimistic leading in to today, but it’s pretty clear the lack of shear will mitigate any real threat. The main disturbance ended up rapidly push NE up towards Lake Superior today. What’s left is an outflow dominant line of storms.

nwohweather
Insane how well up north has done this summer. Just about every week we see a tornado/severe wind event it seems from the Dakotas thru the UP. Seems like Reed Timmer has spent most of the summer in Canada honestly
Indystorm
Nice small line of svr storms this Sat. morning from Champaign north into Iroquois county moving east. Maybe a LAF to Kokomo special midday before more serious chances arrive in central IL later today after peak heating.
Indystorm
2-3 foot diameter trees down in the Paxton/Gibson City area. But as storms move into Indiana CAPE is less so svr chances will probably lesson but storms could still pack a strong punch as higher dews move in from the west with the MCV. nwohweather
I see no reason why the MCV will not reintensify this afternoon. Decent shear ahead of it, solid instability at the surface. If the LCL can lower ahead of the line we should have a nice little event, lapse rates suck though
