TBH, I just checked HRRR and I don't see a change in end time from the 12z run to the 20z run. Always showed it ending around 7-8PM for NYC.

There was a run I saw after 12z that ended a bit earlier. Maybe it was just one run. Either way, we have a lot to make up in NYC!

It's puking/horsing/pouring/yakking/slamming snow here in SE Nassau.  Not quite, but it is pretty darn good right now, and I always wanted to use all those descriptors.  Was hoping to see some new ones this year but so far I haven't.   On the NWS radar the southern extent of the precip is racing N.  Zero idea what that portends, because I don't know anything, and I do see the precip about 50 miles way to the SE headed this way.  Hey its March 7, it gets dark after 7PM in a few days, let's enjoy it.

was just about to type this...this storm was modeled horribly, yet again

Heaviest snow of the storm falling right now for me.  Accumulating quickly on the grass but it's also melting off my roof at the same time.

how the hell did that area of heavy echoes that was headed right at Nassau Cty just go pooof and shoot NE?

It was probably the threshold of melting snowflakes and sleet being pushed eastward as heavier precipitation approached.

mind-boggling to me they still have 7-13,8-12, 10-16" across NYC area. will be luck to break 1 real inch of snow.

We have like 4" in the Bronx, and someone on the UWS measured 3.2" an hour or so ago. The 8-12" should be good for those areas. Probably on the lower end but will still verify.

...BANDS OF HEAVY SNOW WILL AFFECT NORTHEAST NEW JERSEY...THE LOWER
HUDSON VALLEY...NEW YORK CITY...AND MUCH OF SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT
GOING INTO THE EVENING COMMUTE...

At 430 PM, radar showed bands of heavy snow over interior northeast
New Jersey, the lower Hudson Valley, and southwestern Connecticut.
These bands will move slowly east into the New York City
metropolitan area and into much of the rest of southern Connecticut
between now and 630 PM. Snowfall rates of up to 2 inches per hour
and north to northeast winds gusting up to 30 mph expected.
Lightning and thunder are also possible, especially over southern
Connecticut.

Nonessential travel is discouraged. Travel will be very difficult to
impossible due to significant reductions in visibility and blowing
and drifting snow. Be prepared for additional power outages due to
heavy snow weighing down trees or limbs.

Boy that band in north central nj basically running 287 where it's N-S just parked itself over there since 1pm and hasn't moved. Now it's creating subsidence on the east side of it. There will be 16-20in amounts where that band has been

I'm in it in Bound Brook...it's bananas right now.  Limbs and wires coming down all over.  I had about 6 inches an hour ago, now has to be 10 or so.

MMU is right in that. This feels like December 30, 2000 to me. We've had a about a foot+ or so in 4 hours.
