CNY-WXFREAK
Winds are also veering with height which is also adding lift. This could definitely get interesting fast. Everything has closed off further to the North than first anticipated it looks like, as well, but no real difference except maybe for Toronto and our friend OB! CNY-WXFREAK
Yeah most guidance is adjusting this beast a tick or two Northward it looks like which bodes well for almost this whole sub-forum. I think this may be the first time a swath of over a foot goes clear across the state from KBUF to KALB and from Central Oswego County South to the NYS border where more of a mix will probably occur but not in the catskills and the So. Dacks should get a pounding it would seem.

Stash
Moderate to at times heavy snow with very large flakes. Ground whitening up quickly now. No rain to start...If we can keep the wind out of the north we might get a little something out of this.

BuffaloWeather
I remember Oct 2006 like yesterday. I went for a walk with my parents and my sister and trees were falling around all over us, my mom nearly got hit. This is the type of moisture laden snow that event had. Trees were snapping left and right under the weight of the snow and wind. That was a legitimate natural disaster for the state. Similar to our '91 ice storm... Sounded like shotgun fire every minute for hours. No wind.
