Stormpc
It's an amazing event if you ask me. There is widespread wind damage in a 150 mile radius from DC. That's hard to get even with a tropical cyclone. I'm sure we've had some gusts near 70 miles per hour.

Maestrobjwa
Wow...Would've never thought a wind event would be that exciting (outside of a TS or derecho, anyway)...but this certainly has been interesting to watch!! Bob Chill
Yea, 70+mph is VERY impressive for winds not related to a supercell or tropical. This is legit. My power has briefly went off 3-4 times but never for more than 15 seconds. I haven't lost power for more than 1 hour since the big tree trimming project. Prior to that I lost power for multiple days multiple times during far less significant events. I'll give some props to Pepco.
Jebman
What would be truly EPIC, would be the location where WxWatcher went to see snow, gets 38 inches of heavy wet snow then he gets marooned. For days and days and days.

That said, lots of buzz on the AV forums about IAD in ground stop until 1PM, landings on RWY 30, tower evacuated...all things that generally don't ever happen. DCA is also reportedly landing on RWY 33, which is extremely rare. AA and DL have all but ceased attempts to operate there.
