T. August
Saw a weird downburst thing over the water. Like a 20’x20’ area of water swirled up into the air. Kinda creepy.

Stormpc
Round 2 of spiking and punching gusts after a 60 minute lull. My neighborhood is littered with three tab shingles everywhere. A poorly installed three tab shingle has no chance in this wind. Drove from my neighborhood in independent Hill through Bristow and back through Manassas and home. Saw lots of trees down along the side of the road and in the woods. Drove by about 5 houses with trees directly on them. Older neighborhoods are taking a beating. Jebman
This is one time we desperately need clouds. We have got to impede that boundary layer mixing.

wxmeddler
Surface isn't getting any warmer but the boundary layer is cooling off with CAA. Steepening lapse rates = bigger downward momentum gusts, that's why you all are getting the increase in outages.
Stormpc
So if we add up all of the local power utilities there's probably between 350,000 between Baltimore and Fredericksburg without power.
