jm1220
Roaring like crazy now in Long Beach, some of these gusts have to be pushing 60. My lights have flickered a few times. And now it's all rain. I doubt I see any accumulation unless I get lucky at the end and we finally cool down. Oh well. One heck of a storm though.

Flakes mix in every once in a while but besides that rain. Luckily our weak trees are all gone, otherwise it's definitely windy enough for tree damage. Neighbor's house lost a couple shingles already.

the_other_guy
Up another degree last hour. +4 so far since noon. All rain. Snow on ground melting. Wind becoming an issue. Saw Mill River is over its banks and expanding Im as far west as any point in NYC (save Staten Island) and much further north. I cant imagine NYC or LI getting any snow from this storm unless something changes significantly...and soon

ForestHillWx
Where is the center of circulation currently at? Is she moving out as modeled? Latest radar returns didn't seem to show much forward progress, as opposed to circulating from the NW/SE in Jersey.
Sophisticated Skeptic
If any of you live in the poconos, don’t even attempt to come home. All roads are either closed or nobody moving....power lines down , accidents everywhere...even the tow trucks are stuck and can’t move. Route 380 north out here has been closed all day! It’s the major interstate that heads north from here...to Wilkes barre and Scranton....people stranded in cars all day long with wind chills near 0 . People involved in accidents, cops haven’t been able to get to them for hours now. Complete insanity out here...look at maps.google.com and click on traffic tab in top left corner if don’t believe me. Everybody’s stranded practically. NAM was right again, as I’ve been saying for 3 days now.

Latest radar returns didn't seem to show much forward progress, as opposed to circulating from the NW/SE in Jersey. The 500mb low has made quite a bit of Eastward progress, and the storm is probably close to becoming stacked. Most models had the storm peaking around this time, but the SLP was still deepening the last time I checked (down to 972mb I believe). Once the storm stacks, it will begin to weaken, but will also retrograde Southwest for a time, and then slide South and eventually Southeast, which will cause the precip to basically shut off, rather than actually move out. NJwx85
The 18z HRRR has most of the widespread accumulating snows over by 5-6PM, with bands persisting until around midnight in certain areas.
