How do locals pronounce it?

Boss-cow-in or Boss-cah-win?

Bohsk uh win with the emphasis on the first syllable, sounds like bosskwin sorta

some of the old timers say bohsk uh wine but that is kinda a joke

when we move in you should come check out the new place...its a cool spot for views and storms

.8” total with Jspin flakes. Not sure why this was the best growth all year.

I'm not sure your exact temperatures but those events with a tall isothermal and just sub-freezing wetbulb profile, mixed with some decent mid-level isentropic lift, nice snow growth that can become huge aggregates which stack nicely.

I always like some good snow growth at marginally cold surface temperatures to provide nice flakes.

It was exactly that. 31F with a good profile cooling rapidly in the low levels...limiting riming. I suppose maybe salt nuclei helped and must have been decent mid level lift.

We had exceptional snow growth here for the last 30 minutes or so.  Added another .5"

I was surprised. I mean the soundings did look decent, but it was mostly fluff. In fact, I think some of that low water flakes melted a tad because it was coming down good. I would have expected more.
