A little higher than the last call I had last night, but a lot better than I thought this afternoon. I'm sticking with 1.5" although I'm probably too low. I have been watching the wantagh mesonet cam since it’s less then a mile from my house and it remained all snow with a temp of 32. It mixed with sleet for like 20 mins lol. The temps were above freezing and the snow was so dense that it didn't really pile up here.

I measured 2.3” in my yard around when it changed to rain. Maybe that’s what I should go with? I figure I lost some from compacting and melting along the way. I don’t measure on a board. We really pounded for a good 90 minutes before the brief changeover.

The trees in the cam pic look perfectly coated. While here on the UWS it’s a sloppy mess and most of the snow has fallen off or melted off the trees. We got to 4” and couldn’t get past it

jm1220
Too bad it’ll be gone in 24 hours. But I never thought 90% of my precip would be snow with this on such a lousy airmass and wind direction. Us south shore guys missing the initial band likely cost us a couple inches. Ahh well, that’s how these shake out.

The grass and cars started accumulating at the same time here. Now back to all light snow.

LongBeachSurfFreak
I’m going with 3” at home and 4” on the UWS. We would have easily been 6”+ had it been a little bit colder. Total slop fest on the UWS 29.6 at home on the season on a 28 average
gravitylover
I just rolled over and looked out to see it still snowing lightly. It looks like at least 8", I'll confirm in a little while because I have to head out around 3:30am for a road trip to northern NH. It's certainly the biggest plow pile of the year at the end of my driveway 30*/SN-/W

gravitylover
Snow is coming down a bit harder now.
