GramaxRefugee
Walked at 5:10 and was hit by sudden sleet flipover, now rain. Measured 0.8 at the time 32.7/
Round Hill WX
2.5” now in Round Hill. Legit heavy snow.
osfan24
I may be crazy but it seems like a mix of snow and rain right now. It certainly should be snowing harder than it is simply looking at the radar.

Bob Chill
Nice walk. Flipped to sleet in the middle of the walk now back to mostly snow. I'm prob gonna get 2" after all if I'm not there already. Even the main roads caved. Very nice event. My dog doesn't need a leash. He'll never go into the street without permission. Love that damn dog. lol

Jrlg1181
Light rain ( very minor sleet) down here in Waynesboro, and very little of that.... .006 of liquid precip.............After 6 (11 + inch) snows between Dec 09 and Jan 16 we were due for 2 + years of very little snow......law of averages
Cobalt
I'm a couple of miles SE of you and I had 1.1" before the sleet started. We did flip back to snow a few minutes ago.Measure 1" on my snowboard in my front lawn an hour ago, 1.25" on my deck, and I'm close to both of you. clskinsfan
Just took my best Jebwalk in over 2 years. It is epic out here right now. I was hoping to get 3 inches I am going to blow right by that. 2.75 and still dumping. Great storm!

I'm hearing that icy sound in bursts. Flake size has gone way down. Was hoping those dumping fatties would last a bit longer to get me to 2.2" (and 10" on the season), but couldn't quite do it. Maybe we can get one more burst before it changes/ends for good.

CAPE
Moderate to heavy snow here in Gettysburg now. An inch and all surfaces are covered. Very picturesque. Headed out to walk the town and pub hop in the snow.
WeathermanB
What a difference 10 minutes makes. As soon as the temperature dropped below 33 degrees, the roads are now turning really white, as well as my driveway. 0.8'' of fluffy white sneaux. Now starting to hear pingers all of a sudden. RIC_WX
Roads around Leesburg crazy slippery, frozen slush is no joke. Got rear ended at traffic light, came home and slid back down inclined driveway 2x with brake on and trans parked. That is a slick road.
RDM
Went out about 4:30 just as the SN+ flipped to sleet to plow our driveway, which has a hill that gets tricky with the slightest sn. Lawyers Road N. of Vienna was ok at the time with a white stripe in the middle from the sn. In 20 mins the sleet turned the street to combo of hard-pack and a slippery slushy mess. Temp went down to 32, where it remains. Traffic quickly turned it into a vehicle crawl. Don't understand why folks with low aspect high performance tires venture out in this stuff. Just asking for trouble. People were driving 5mph, which makes it impossible to keep up any momentum. The scene brings back images of commutergeddon. North Balti Zen
Just walked a couple of miles to dinner and back with my son. Gorgeous walk. Snow clinging to trees everywhere and some scattered street coverage. Got back and measured - 1.25” so far at my house.
osfan24
If that band in Eldersburg isn't sleet, I shudder to think what kind of snow that is putting down right now. That has to be 2-3 inches an hour.
