smokeybandit
On to the next "storm" I guess for those of us east of 95.
North Balti Zen
That's an absolutely legit ice storm out that way. Wow to some of those pics.
poolz1
Yes, good call on LWX's part...I was just as skeptical. Measured an avg of .3" Two large trees blocking the road down the street but nothing imby, fortunately. Creek is running a bit high.
Interstate
I am glad the ice stayed west. I am all for snow, but ice... no thank you.
ErinInTheSky
Never got above 33. Hours of 33 plus rain though ruined the icing.
Ka60
In Clarksburg, side streets are still bad. Trees from inside look beautiful. Temp 31.8 and rising
Mama2Many
Finding some measurements of 0.50" of ice accumulation, with the majority being at least 0.40" Props to LWX. I was skeptical of their call yesterday but they nailed it here.Yep. We got 0.50" here. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
WVclimo
Winds are starting to freshen. Even before the big gusts get here, tree branches are already snapping every few minutes. Been sitting on the back porch listening and it's reminiscent of the October 2011 snowfall with the amount of crashing sounds. At the high for the day of 32.7 now. Total liquid today was 0.97"
EastCoast NPZ
Too far south. Nothing but rain. Some patches of ice on the ground this morning, covered cars, but temp never dropped below 32F and warmed above freezing in no time.
poolz1
Temps starting to drop pretty quick now...32.1 Anemometer still frozen up. I assume things have generally cleared out and winds are starting from the NW according to current obs.
Sparky
.73" liquid today after getting 1.00" on Sunday. Nice to have reliable precipitation again. More for Sat./Sun. coming too. Have a lot of ice on my trees, deck, and sidewalk/driveway.
87storms
Definitely have had a couple little flickers here this evening. Didn’t get much icing so it could be unrelated.

It's 31 now power lines are down everywhere. It's going to be awful when the wind picks up tonight 15 mph winds gusting to 30, trees and power lines will be no match. I hope you all stay safe. I'd give anything to have all of your ice. Just Wow!
Jebman
Love those ice pics! I might have to come up there and show you all how to do a proper Ice Jebwalk. Damn I am green with jealousy!

smokeybandit
What, no school delays today for those ice patches leftover from yesterday's rain?

FCPS MD is on a 2 hr. delay. Although I suspect that kids to my West and North may not be able to get into school. Many roads closed and a lot of power is still out. Glad we did not get the winds that were talked about over here. Was mostly calm all night.
poolz1
Was a bit surprised to see a solid coating of snow on the ground this morning....I guess maybe a squall came through with the front?
WVclimo
The staying power of the ice is kinda shocking to me. Even after a night of wind gusts above 30 mph and a day of full sun with temps up to 33, the trees and power lines here are as loaded with ice as they were this time yesterday. It's really one of winter's prettiest scenes.
