wolfie09
Euro is good not great lol Pops a 2ndry off the coast, drags everything east, been seeing this on some models..
CNY_WX
About 1 1/2 inches of cement so far. I’d have to say the ratio is less than 10:1. Seems like a spring snow as the temperature sits at 34.

wolfie09
Euro looks really good with the lake effect potential behind this system, just like the ggem, we all know how this will probably turn play lol Another clipper system that dumps several more inches to follow.. CNY_WX
After a brief lull we’re back to moderate to heavy snow. Too bad the temperature isn’t a few degrees colder.

CNY_WX
I don’t hear much talk about our current system but it is snowing heavily here right now with huge flakes. About another inch and a half since 1 brings storm total to 3 inches even though ratios are low.
CNY-WXFREAK
I'm in the same boat as I wish it was a couple degrees colder as its been pounding for the last hr at least. KBUF did mention it would seem like a spring snow as opposed to an early Feb event so kudos to them and the models did do well with the downsloping in the finger lakes, as there is barely any snow falling past Waterloo on West. LakeEffectKing
Same as Ty and Brian's reports.....Nice large flakes, accumulating well on snow surface, but struggling on the asphalt....No snowblowing required!
CNY-WXFREAK
It's also backbuilding quite nicely. Perhaps it can snow heavily enough to cool the column, or to drop the temp a couple degrees from the top down. Has dropped a degree in the past hr down to 33F
LakeEffectKing
Tues. night/ Wed. looks like a 4-8 incher here in the SYR area and vicinity....probably closer to a foot E and SE in the hills....

Has dropped a degree in the past hr down to 33F Agree, NWP has us on western edge of higher qpf, hopefully we can hang on...I’m down from 33 to 32 in last couple hours, maybe some dynamic cooling with higher precipitation rate? BuffaloWeather
Snow totals from last event: Redfield with 18.6" http://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=buf&product=PNS&issuedby=BUF

That's what I said in my last post. Perhaps we can go isothermal throughout the column and maybe thats whats occuring cause its really pounding here and starting to stick to the pavement so..... Thinksnow18
BuffWeath did you look at those totals??? I live in Williamsville and about 4 miles north of the airport...I have reveived no where near 2.7 or as in east Williamsville has reported 3.4. rochesterdave
It’s like different worlds. Nothing but drizzle in Roc. We have lost the inch of pack we had. Green! Downsloaping killed us. Not sure about Weds thing. Canadian has been locked in keeping it well SE. Euro and GFS look good for 3-6”. NWS has backed off on the disco and Cranky is talking SE. Few more runs before I get worried.

CNY-WXFREAK
Wed-Thurs event is a 6-10" event for us area wide, lock it in already. If the EURO and the GFS are lock step along with the UKMET, I really wouldn't worry about the Canadian but thats just me.

CNY_WX
Snow’s stopped for now. Another 0.7 inch since 5 brings this storm to just over 5 inches of “real” snow here. Expecting a little more with the cold frontal passage later. I would already call this an over achiever.

CNY-WXFREAK
There;s actually a little sneaky SW that'll be coming through the area tomorrow night through tuesday morning with 1-3" perhaps 2-4 which will serve as a nice little appetizer before the main entree on wed-thurs!
CNY-WXFREAK
Thats the frontal passage and the density should be a lot drier and the ratios should be a bit higher and not 8-1" like today. There's a HUGE parade in Philly right now through the city, lol!
