CNY_WX
Definitely north of where the models placed it. Looks like it’s coming back south again. Temperature has dropped, back to 32 so this round should be snow/mix.
lakeeffectkid383
Been snowing moderate to heavy here last hour or so. 1.3" of new snow since this morning with 1.1" of that coming in the last hour.
Thinksnow18
Definitely border line moderate to occasional heavy snow, was just out on transit in east Amherst and the roads are in terrible shape...I believe Buffweather said 6 -12 over the weekend and that higher end might just be close to realized. lakeeffectkid383
Up to 2.2” of new snow since this morning. Roads a mess. Storm total of 8.1” ... snow continues to fall moderately.

KSYR GFS forecast sounding for 7pm...says it all. Sounding IMBY slightly cooler at sfc but similar look obviously. SN- here, roads covered but not a lot of accum...1/2" at best so far. CNY-WXFREAK
I gotta be honest, I don't believe the EURO one bit but that's just me, lol!
wolfie09
Most LRguidance I’ve seen shows a decent warmup and average temps are going up by the day..
Syrmax
GFS looks cooler on avg but...we all know the h500 verification is usually better for Euro. I don't think it's a full on blowtorch but certainly protracted normal to above normal appears on tap. We may sneak in some snow though. Granted, not as likely as say, in the usual mythical snowbelts of SNE, but still possible.

CNY-WXFREAK
Bring on Spring I'll be happy to accept this Winter's demise. Syracuse may not hit avg if some of the LR forecasts pan out, lol, and it looked sooooo promising during the Month of December. Oh well, there's always next yr. wolfie09
KSyr needs 18”, anything passed 7-10 days is a crap shoot, still have a decent shot imo...Fulton still needs about 40” or so, making it a long shot if we don’t see anymore feb snows.. wolfie09
Fulton hit 100” on Jan 13th, so yea it’s been pretty shltty lol I was aiming for 200”, oh well, but hey it could be worse, I could live in nyc with like 2” in the last 5 weeks.. wolfie09
Should of seen this one coming.. As of 2017, Punxsutawney Phil has made 131 predictions, with an early spring (no shadow) predicted 18 times (13.85%). According to Stormfax, as of 2016 the predictions have proven correct 39% of the time.. In particular, Staten Island Chuck — owner of the highest accuracy rating (at 80 percent) among prognosticating rodents — informed a New York audience that we would see an early spring

CNY-WXFREAK
Staten Island Chuck has been on fire as of the last few Winters, so I'd be inclined to believe him, as we're in store for an early Spring for sure.

BuffaloWeather
I don't know what to say. I don't see any winter in the next 15 days with these indices. The pacific has gone to garbage. https://www.esrl.noaa.gov/psd/forecasts/reforecast2/teleconn/forecast.html
