12z NAM does give NYC and nearbye suburbs a little front end dump of 1 to 2 inches of snow wednesday before the change to rain. Hopefully this will continue to trend colder and we see a little accumulating snow, because it could be the last chance for awhile with the pattern looking ugly.

The mid-week event has trended warmer not colder. Most of the globals have us in the deep interior flipping to rain now.

that freezing rain profile would be ugly if it holds true.

id venture to bet its either rain or snow, on top of freezing rain like that being rare, 850s are the only "warm" layer and theyre only +1.....wont take much to be snow, some heavier rates would likelpush that over the edge

And 18z NAM is a nice little hit of 2 to 3 inches of snow for the NYC area before it changes to rain. Let's see if this keeps trending colder.

That's the type of event we can get in these conditions.... we can get a front end dump sometimes, then it gets washed away depending on the duration of the rain....but it would still be some snow for awhile.
