jm1220
Snow’s about gone in Long Beach, there’s a little left on grass and a few trees. The warm ground ate it up this afternoon. Wind has been kicking up though the last couple of hours.

Snowing and blowing here. It's light but enough to have whitened the street again. And it looks like a bigger deal when a wind gust blows a bunch off of the roof. I know this isn't how to measure snow, but it looked like nearly 2 inches on the car. 150th and Amsterdam. During my run on Riverside I saw more snow on the grass. I must've been fooled by the concrete jungle upon waking.

So the wind off the sound is part of the reason, but it isn't really sound enhancement. The elevation in that area helps a bit too I think the highest amt I've found in the area was 8.7" at Upton. They seem to be the local hotspot for these kinds of storms. although maybe if we had a better Coop Network out there we would find other locations do even better. It's a metal dog on a post, it's pretty much two-dimensional so that's why there's no snow on it. Keeps the geese off the grass (sometimes).
