Yeah we picked up another 0.5 since i cleared off 8".  Back to very light snow now.

Short term busts like this are what makes this fun.   Growing up the 80's we lived through too many negative busts.   But how many times in recent years has Upton had to play catch up by rapidly increasing forecasted amounts to catch up to conditions?  It sure is nice being on the positive side of a bust.   Wish the whole area had cashed in.

Local area jackpot should be somewhere between you and Orient lol  Or maybe even Montauk?

This little light/moderate band from Smithtown out east is interesting. Still accumulating here in Centereach. It diesnt seem to want to go away and was in fact strengthening for awhile.

some LIS enhancement?  We do have a north wind

Widest part of LIS is around that area isn't it?

Assuming 2.5" or so, that gets me to about 25" on the season-about average already. Definitely nothing to complain about.

Picked up close to 3" here in SW Suffolk. Just a little too far west for the warning level snows that got out east.

That 1.2" seems about right, as it is what I got in Astoria near LGA. Mainly on grassy surfaces/cars though, as streets, sidewalks were just wet.

Yes. I measured 1.7"-2.0" in Whitestone and Bayside at 8:45am. So the LGA 1.2" at 7:00a.m. makes sense.

Left the south shore in lindenhuest and there was little snow left. As I cross the LIE huge uptick and it’s actially still snowing a bit up here. Night and day.

Apparently at home the snow's melting pretty fast on the colder surfaces, probably from the warm ground and it falling at a marginal temp. We didn't even really have any stick on paved ground. It looked really nice earlier this morning though. I guess I'll go with 2.5"-I didn't measure then and it seems in line with others around here. That puts me at 25.1" for the winter.

Sorta kinda.  More due to frictional convergence along the north shore.  So the wind off the sound is part of the reason, but it isn't really sound enhancement.

What did you end up with?

Snow on the paved surfaces melted as soon as the sun came out here. Still have snow on the colder surfaces.

Wow, 8.7” Upton total.

Seems to be a great snow spot. Far enough east for these types events and far enough away from the water during marginal events.

The radar last night was pretty epic there with a 30dbz band that just sat. I figured big numbers where going to come out of that area as they had 1-2” hours rates for a long time

Snow hole here in Harlem, can't be much more than a coating. Glad the LI folks cashed in on this. I went to bed around 2 last night thinking that the radar looked far too impressive for the forecast. Gotta resort to the eye test sometimes.

Where are you located in Harlem?  I know this isn't how to measure snow, but it looked like nearly 2 inches on the car.
