powderfreak
23 minutes ago, snowgeek said: Pingers now darn it!!! . I was just about to text my parents and see what was going on. Radar has that look where it could be sleet or it could be pounding snow. Very close. ALY issuing SPS for heavy snow and ALY/BTV both upgraded some zones to warnings. Could be a fun evening. Super Bowl snowstorm. Pasted up here in the trees...only a couple inches so far I think (haven't been out) but its snowing steadily and has that fell that it's about to do this for a few hours. mreaves
Looks like 3” or so here. I just got back from Island Pond where it snowed on and off most of the day, to no great effect. Roads were a bit dicy from Danville to home. There is decent snow at elevation in the NEK, maybe 18”-20”?

powderfreak
It switched a little earlier from more of a meso-scale precipitation to a synoptic style radar signature. Some good banding moving north through central VT... a seemingly dense moderate snow. Trees catching most of it.

Hoth
Setting weather aside for a moment, anyone else here watch the Falcon Heavy launch? Totally epic. Seeing Musk's roadster floating over the earth while David Bowie played in the background made me a little emotional, not gonna lie.

Say what you will about Elon Musk being irresponsible or megalomaniacal or a New World Order lizard person, but his company is pretty much single-handedly making space cool again. Hoth
There's a live stream of Starman. When he's on the dark side of earth, you can see lightning every so often. How iconic is this picture? And in all likelihood, this roadster will be one of mankind's longest lasting relics. May be in orbit around the sun for a billion years.

Typhoon Tip
Today's snow brings my back yard total to 35" for the season... but an interesting stat, 1.3" in total accretion (so far... we're still doing so tho modestly at the moment..) across three different systems. That latter stat's above normal -
HIPPYVALLEY
9" in the past week within a kitchen sink of winter weather. No complaints considering it could have been worse. Inching my way towards climo snow average, about 2/3 of the way there with some weeks to go. (38" including today)

tamarack
Fake cold out in force this AM. Did not check the thermometer but the slow cranking of the pickup's starter suggested -15 or so.
