I posted this in the model discussion thread also, buthad some people ask me why we are getting so many storms in March like this, and I replied it's not a rare thing, but trying to explain, I guess because the southern stream is ramping up, season change, northern stream still active, PNA phase change? Can anyone explain to me why we tend to get some very large storms around the ides of March? Thanks in advance

Shout out to the forum from BTV this evening:

Winter wx advisory looks
reasonable as overall impacts will be limited to the higher
terrain of central/northern VT...northeast Kingdom and parts of
the dacks. General snowfall of 3 to 6 inches in advisory looks
good with isolated amounts from Mt Mansfield to Jay Peak of 12
to 14 inches looks very likely by mid day Sunday. Have increased
pops to 100% and sharpen the qpf/snowfall gradient from cpv to
summits of western slopes...based on crnt thinking. Also...have
increased snowfall amounts across the northeast kingdom where
some localized areas above 2000 feet will see 8 to 10 inches.
Another good problem to have is trying to find the off switch to
the upslope snow machine...looks like a brief break develops
Sunday Aftn into Monday...before more accumulating snowfall for
Tuesday into Weds. Keep the free refills coming for PF and
company.

Yeah, but have they sworn off completely discounting the Euro ever again yet?

Just watched 3 billboards in ebbing MO. I really liked it, very dark drama interspersed with just enough comedic moments, you won't kill yourself. It probably isn't a movie for everyone, but it is really good and if you've ever been interested but haven't watched it, I recommend it.

This just in..........

A very high probability that I'll need to move out of GC.  It looks like my daughter's going to be going to either Tabor or Portsmouth Abbey and we'd rather be closer to their.  So, the question then becomes "where".  That will depend largely on what my wife winds up doing for work.  The radius for living would range from the absolute worst place in the northeast for snow (coastal SE CT) through the ORH area down through the Cape.  Needless to say, I'm going to be trying to make arguments for towns in NORH County as being very reasonable places to live.....

Stop, Nantucket is worse than SE CT for snow, especially if you are not on the immediate shore and in the hills a bit.

For overall storm effects, nasomuch.

I'll trade you your sparrow for a six-pack of titmouses.  I'm overwhelmed by them.

There’s a few here. Mostly still chickadees, juncos, my cardinal couple, downies, and a pileated. I’ve heard some gold finch songs during the morning so I put the thistle back out.
