Huriken
Snowing at a pretty good rate here in South Hill. Looks like I've already got 2 inches!
Bryan63
Had light snow/rain for a while, just started coming down at a decent clip, will be curious to see how long it takes for grassy areas to start accumulating.
DeltaPilot
Woke up to almost exactly 2" on the ground. Got almost an inch more than the last event. Im about 3 miles south of the Doppler ball at FFC. It was really light from the start to about 1-2am. I went out then to take a look and we were in one of those darker blue bands on the radar. My guess was we got most of the snow right in that. I would call it moderate. Airport was reporting 2 miles vis at the time. It was clearing at 8am. Beautiful snow covered landscape. One of the bad things are the roads. It was almost perfect set up for serious problems today. Temps were warm yesterday but plunged in the afternoon. The early snow melted a bit before sticking on the road. Caused a slushy mix under the snow later and its frozen solid this am. Most primary and all secondary roads are VERY treacherous around here and probably will remain so through tomorrow. Any road that has seen vehicle traffic is almost a perfect compacted snow/sheet of ice. No treatments around here pre event!
Freeze
The western edge has not moved in the last hour and 15 minutes. In fact it has actually built up on the back edge and is more healthy than it was at 9:15 am. First image from 9:15 AM. Second is 10:45 AM

Poimen
The heaviest snow yet is occurring right now. The flakes have increased slightly in size, too. It's no coincidence that IR SAT imagery showing enhanced/cold cloud tops overheard, too. It's pouring here.
JoshWeather
flakes aren't overly impressive in size.....but man they're really flying here now. Good bit of wind too as they're coming down sideways at times

NCSNOW
Begining to think 7 for my county may be to low. If we keep these rates currently till 5 or 6pm well be pushing 10 to 12. Silver lining is I know rates to my west and SW are heavier. Can't remeber ratios like what we have to be getting now. Gonna be fun seeing how this turns out. superjames1992
Looks like a fire hose is aimed at the Durham area. Should be a good one for most Triangle folks, especially in western parts. Radar looks good for Charlotte, too. The redevelopment in the GSP area is impressive. Looks like some heavier returns are building SW of GSO, too, so could make a run at 6" there. WarmNose
Snow has come to a crawl here. Waiting on that backend redevelopment. This has been one for the books. Very little potential for this thing a few days ago now I'm sitting under a fresh blanket of snow

Got 4.5-5” in an open field right by the Tar River between Oxford and Roxboro. I noticed this morning on the drive to Roxboro this area just west of Oxford had more accum at 7-730 then Roxboro did when we got there. May head down to Wake Forest for the afternoon after we grab lunch, followed by the drive back and some action in the coastal plain later if the RGEM has a handle. Temp up to
