poolz1
Painful....snow approaches mby then retracts...approaches, retracts. been 5-10 miles to my NW for the past 3 hrs. It was actually well forecasted but i just didnt want to believe it.
Interstate
Looks like I am staying up until midnight according to the HRRR... That will be the start of my 4 hours of light snow
WxUSAF
Even the GFS dried out some. But still says I get 0.5"+, which is about the "snowiest" model solution out there right now.
NorthArlington101
We've struck out on the HRRR for the past 3 or so runs, now we are striking out on the RAP as well. HRRRx has been looking better but without total precip maps its hard to tell if its virga or not. I'd just like measurable at this point.
WEATHER53
You do not need models right now. Since noon the radar has shown little eastward movement. Our only hope is the area down in Tennessee which picked up some moisture early this afternoon and does have some eastward component to it
WVclimo
Best rates of the day now. Starting to accumulate nicely with dendrites mixing in with the pixie dust. 0.3" so far. 30 degrees.

clskinsfan
Coming down pretty decently now. Maybe I will steal an inch afterall.
wxdude64
I have had snow on radar overhead for last 2 hours, could count on my hands the number of flakes that actually fell to ground. Just in last 5 minutes an actual light 'snow' has started, pixie dust style. Made it to 39.8 degrees, currently 35.5/29.7. In other words, there is a good bit of dry air to overcome. RevWarReenactor
FWIW (which is probably not much) The HRRR seems to bring the precip in in 2 waves, first one from the current band, and then it kind of tapes into the stuff south of the area and fills in the gap briefly. Looks very light either way.

I thought it accounted for virga? Either way, they called a 2 hour delay tomorrow for my job at APG, pretty shocking. So I am satisfied enough. I can remember times where there was 6 inches on the ground and they were like "eh, report on time". Things have definitely gotten much softer over the years. NorthArlington101
Well the only good news I can think of is places like Smithsburg are reporting 1.5” where the mesos thought there wouldn’t be that much. Gives a little hope that there remains some uncertainty left.

WVclimo
Snow is tapering off. 1.2" on 0.08" liquid. For all those numerous runs of the NAM and RGEM that showed 0.20-0.40" of QPF, the GFS and the last 48 hours of Euro runs were much closer to what fell.
